Need something to jot your poetry/drawings/brilliant ideas/schemes in? Why not carry around a magnificent leather and wood pocketbook you made yourself. Get all Medieval and learn to make a wooden board binding in one day. The finished book is 2.5” x 4” - a Medieval book that fits in your pocket. The class will be set up for 7 hours with a half hour lunch break in between. Learn to make a wooden board binding in one day. Fold paper into signatures, sew the text block onto cords, shape the wooden boards and attach them to the book, then cover with leather. All tools and materials are included in the price of $125.00 paper, wood and leather.
Nicky Yeager is a bookbinder and conservator. He has studied binding structure and design while a student and librarian in collections throughout the US. Making books that work well and last while looking good is the focus of his design mindset.
